This sample displays a screen snap of a CD-ROM website page containing 12 Australian comic
books originally published between the late 1940s and the early 1960s.
The snap was taken on a computer with a monitor screen resolution setting of 800 x 600
ppi. The snap displays a medium-sized view of a comic page from Sir Falcon,
edition number 2 (originally published approx. 1954). Also on the sample webpage are
the comic book title, edition and page numbers, and a range of menu and hyperlink button
selections for easy navigation to other pages of this comic book and to other sections of
the entire CD-ROM website. As displayed in the screen snap there are also link
buttons to large-scale and small-scale views of each comic book page to suit viewing
preferences and a range of monitor screen resolutions.
The 12-comic website is available on CD-ROM; your computer will require an installed
web browser to access the site, but as it is self-contained and confined entirely to the
CD-ROM, there is no need to be connected to the internet in order to view it. Your
web browser should run automatically as soon as the disk is inserted into your computer's
CD/DVD drive, and will display the site's homepage.
